Description

Come and enjoy an exhilarating eco-adventure at Botanical World on the Hamakua Coast, just minutes from Hilo!

The locale is the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens, also known as the “Garden in a Valley on the Ocean.” This serene wonderland attracts artists, botanists, and nature lovers from all over the world.

You begin your adventure with a stunning view of Kamaee Falls, one of Hawaii’s most beautiful waterfalls. Next, thrill-seekers will soar on a zipline through the rainforest. If you’re looking for a lower-key experience, stroll along the rainforest trail and watch the zipliners zoom over the lush landscape. Another fun attraction here is the world’s second-largest botanical maze. Young and old alike enjoy wandering through the leafy labyrinth.

The Zipline

Hang loose and see Hawaii from a new perspective! Let our awesome staff guide you through a zipline course that zooms through the lush rainforest.

Requirements & Suggestions

You must wear a shirt, shorts or pants, and closed-toed shoes when ziplining. We recommend that you wear long sleeves and long pants to ward off pesky bug bites. Bug spray and sunscreen are available for purchase in case you forget to bring your own. Please remember that all lotions and sprays must be applied 30 minutes before you zip as they can damage our equipment. It’s also a good idea to bring a jacket and check the weather forecast as you may need rain gear.

Please remove any dangling jewelry and tie back long hair before strapping into your harness to ensure nothing gets caught in the equipment. Make sure your glasses are secured so you don’t lose them, and remove or tape over body piercings. We wouldn’t want anything to get ensnared in the equipment and potentially ruin your fun times.

We encourage you to bring your cameras and camcorders to chronicle your awesome adventure; just make sure that they are secure. Our guides will be happy to help you pose if requested. Disposable cameras are also available at the Visitor Center. We often have a staff photographer on site, so ask your guides about photos that are available for purchase at the Visitor Center.

Safety First

Your safety is of utmost importance to us! We are accredited by the ANSI Accredited Standards Developers, the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT), and the Professional Ropes Course Association (PRCA) for meeting all international standards for zipline operations and canopy tours. Our entire operation is inspected at least annually by independent inspectors to ensure we continue to meet those standards. Our equipment and each of our ziplines are inspected every day and on each zip, one of our guides always goes first.
